Baron and the Cone of Shame...
Baron decided it was time for some of his stitches to come out, unfortunately for him the vet disagreed.
We went back to the vet on thursday to have his fix-um stitches taken out and to check the amputation wound. The vet said that the bright side of his amputation was that he hadn't messed with his neutering wound at all (the down side being he no longer has a leg) and that overall he was healing really well. He didn't want to put any new stitches in, but Baron has been sentenced to the Cone of Shame until he finishes healing. He is not pleased.
We had some trouble figuring out the car situation. Baron really likes to look out the window, but balancing on one leg in a moving vehicle with an open wound isn't the safest mode of travel for a three-legged-dog. So instead we buckled his basket into the passenger seat and he fell asleep for the drive.
He's starting to fill out now that he's eating regularly and his hair is getting thicker, so he's looking a lot less like a pathetic drowned rat and a lot more like a dog.
There is also some suspicion that he may be suffering from doggy-phantom leg syndrome (if you'd seen him trying to scratch his existent left ear with his non-existent left leg you'd know what I mean)
